Richard has been painting for over twenty years having been inspirided Richard is a artist who lived on Kauai for over 14 years, lived many years in Colorado and now spends his time in Costa Rica and Colorado painting, His paintings convey the lushness and mystical tranquility of this magical tropical paradise. Richard paints in the "Romantic" style of the Hudson River and Florida Highwaymen Artists. He paints with both oils (water oluable) and acrylics. Using acrylics, he layers buidling up depth then seals his paintings with varnish, Doing so Richard is able to capture a depth and richness that bring them to life! He also uses water soluble oil paints achieving all the lust results of oils. Richard views each piece as an amazing adventure and expression of love. He believes each painting has its own essence, voice, transcending even the intention of the artist and finds its home in the hearts of those who appreciate its sudble message.
